im trying to fix my audio on my computer but for some reason the driver wont install. i think its becasue the older driver is keeping it from installing. how would i go about deleting old drivers so that i can install the new ones? i know its the right driver too, and i've gotten it from multiple places and keep getting the same error message.
can anyone help?

Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs See if it's there to be removed.

If not, Control Panel | System | Hardware | Device Manager

Then find your sound device, right-click for Properties, go to Driver, then Uninstall.

looks like that wasnt the problem. thanks for the info though.
when i try to install the driver it gives me a window saying "update driver for plug&play devices -536870397" then when i hit ok it gives me a widow "error" saying it cannot install the driver.
the driver is for an sis-7012 ac97 on windows xp.
