Deleted MXF Files from Log & Transfer!

Hello,
I'm new to FCP and have a big problemo. I was using the "Log and Transfer" option to bring MXF files into FCP and convert them. I then deleted the files out of the "Log and Transfer" queue before they were converted. It now appears as if they have been deleted off of the hard drive altogether.

Anyone ever have this happen? Am I totally screwed?

Any help would be greatly appreciated and I offer a place to stay with free beer, pizza, and women with abnormally large libidos to whomever might be able to steer me in the right direction.

Tim.

Where were the MXF files originally? L&T should not remove files in the queue, only the QuickTimes you're making.

They were on our hard drive. We did try and transfer them to an external drive, could that have erased them? When I deleted them from the queue a menu popped up that said "if you delete these, it is un-redoable..." or something like that.

I figured that it was a standard delete message.

BTW: We just received your COLOR dvd. Haven't gotten a chance to watch it yet, but from the looks of my FCP skills, looks like I've got a bit of learning to do before hand anyways..lol.

So you had the MXF's in one folder on one drive and your were logging and transferring to another? The MXF's should still be on the drive. Are those folders now empty?

This morning I loaded the P2 cards on the Mac in a folder in the Documents section.

When I got home I tried to Log & Transfer the clips but there wasn't enough space on the drive.

I then hooked up a Western Digital Drive and transferred the 12 gigs of clips to that drive so I could work off of it since it had enough room.

I then deleted the previous clips from the L&T queue and it asked if I was sure I wanted to do it as it was "undoable" and I clicked OK.

I then tried to load the clips from the Western Digital drive to the L&T queue and it loaded the folder, but the folder didn't have any of the clips. The folder still has all the subfolders (Content/Audio/Video etc.) but there is nothing in the folders.

I then looked at the original MXF clips that were on the Mac HD and they were gone as well.

Thanks a lot Noah for your help, by the way.

I deleted some source mxf files once. I thought I was just deleting them from the log and transfer window. Luckily I still had the .movs.
