Delete not used stuff?

Hey everybody,

I made a dvd production and now I want to delete everything that I didn't use in the end to save space on my external hard drive. What is the best and more important the safest way to do this? Thank you in advance?

Niels

I tried it and it gives me a lot of errors and it can't find files etc. Final Cut even fall out a couple of times. I just want the footage that is used in the timeline. So I select the sequence (I tried to select everything as well, everything in the browser and timeline and it didn't work) and go to media manager. When media manager starts it says that the project is 15.3 gb and I modified it to 9.4 by selecting delete unused media, but when I browse to an empty external hard drive and click I have to save again, and so I select the empty hard drive again. When I say save it starts and it gives me errors of things it can't find or falls out just like that. i am going crazy here!

i always use media manager and i never had problems. If you keep all your projects clean and organise, media manager will work just fine.

Im not in front of final cut right but ill try to explain to you the way i do it:

select the sequence you want to use in your browser then go file, media manager, then select copy. You can keep or not the renders it can save you some space but the next time you open it you have to re-render everything. Then select delete unused media and give yourself about 5secondes of handles or more if you want, but more handles means more space. after find a place to put your project and then clic ok. after its going to ask you to save your media manager project. After all that you should have a new project with only the sequence you chose earlier and the media used in it.

I hope its going to help you

Thank you Macs for the time, I have tried it in the way you describe, but it still had errors or fell out. But thanx for the help...
