Delay in aperture

Hi,
I might get my hands on a prime lens that has a delayed/slow aperture. I guess this would be a problem on a still camera, but does it really matter if used on a 35mm adapter?
Is this the chance to get a cheap really good prime? Or should I stay away from it?

U might be confused.

First of all, a f1.4 is not slow. Second, a Canon FD 24mm f1.4 is at least 1000 bucks.

So, where is the mistake?...

The lens got a problem. A "delay" in aperture (that's what the seller told me). I'm not sure what it means actually, but I wasn't refering to "slow" as in "small" aperture.

It doesn't matter any longer, because it was on ebay and the seller ended the auction.

But, who knows, I might see something like that again? So I'm still interested in the answer.

Well I'll say this if that lens isn't broken or something that is gonna be a sweet lens. I would love to have a 24mm at 1.4

We got one for £30 (about $60....)

Dosnt have a delayed aperture at all...

Well... if you got it at that price, definately they didn´t know what they were selling. But it is indeed a thousand dollar lens. I don´t understand your quote.

About the delayed aperture? I don´t understand what that means, so I can´t help you there... sorry.
