Deinterlacing 29.97 in Vegas 8

I have some 29.97 video that need to be de-interlaced. I have DVFILMAKER but am wondering if VEGAS 8 does just as good of a job at reaching 23.976 by dropping it in the appropriate timeline and rendering?
