Default Properties Setting- Regular or Widescreen?

Hi gang - Just a curiousity question here.

I've shot some DVX footage using the 24Pa mode using the DVX's letterbox aspect ratio setting. When editing in Vegas, should I use the 24p DV or the 24p Widescreen template setting?

I'm noticing wide black spaces on the Vegas monitor to the left and right of the image in the widescreen mode. I'm finally starting to shoot a lot more in letterbox and widescreen formats but I'm a little green on the tech side with it still.

Letterbox is 4:3. I never use it and do not recommend it. Shoot squeeze.

So, either edit as 4:3, or edit as widescreen and crop to 16:9.

Thanks David. I'll shoot my next wedding using the Squeeze mode and see if I can learn something new.
