Kidding. But like you, knowing that the result is significant, I thought about it too much and knocked them together, probably trying to change the result at the last instant or something.
 
I don't think I'm spoiling anything by saying I read only 1% of people find it equally comfortable to have either left or right thumb on top; 99% of people will only find it comfortable doing it one way and not the other. And apparently no correlation with whether or not you're right or left handed. I still don't know what it's supposed to mean though! Looking forward to hearing what the theory is.

Thank you for taking part in this little experiment, I can now finally reveal the results of the significance of left thumb/ right thump.

Essentially as you already may know our left hand is controlled by the right side of our brains and visa versa. Furthermore our different sides of the brain have different qualities, the dominant thumb thus demonstrates which side of your brain is most dominant therefore revealing our deeper quality.

Right Thumb:

The left side of your brain is said to be more adept at language, logic and linear thinking.

The Left Thumb:

The right side of your brain is said to control your visual, spatial and intuitive processes.

For me this result was both surprising but also re-affirming, I had always been adamant that I was a logical thinker, (being an Engineer, programmer, and debater) but it would seem that that is not my dominant side!


From a glance, I can see a lot of lefties on this board, now that makes sense, being an Indie filmmaker community artistic creativeness would be the kind of people with “visual and spatial” qualities. However this does not mean you can’t be a "righty" and not a filmmaker :)

So how does these result correlates with your own personalities? Confirmation or contradiction?.

Being Left handed or right handed does not have any influence over it, however if your comfortable with either thumb, then your that 1% which would mean that you are kinda netural and have both logical/Visual qualities!
 
I'm left handed. Left thumb on top. And when I cross my arms, it's left over right. I throw right handed, bowl left handed. Bat (baseball) and golf right handed, racket sports including ping pong, left handed.

I was right. I thought it was a hemisphere thing. I KNOW I'm visually oriented. I KNOW I'm creative. I KNOW I'm technically adept. Unfortunatly I don't know anything else, lol.

My thumbs naturally meet in the middle, pad-to-pad, neither one on top. Putting one or the other on top, feels weird.

I'm ambidextrous when shooting (cameras or handguns) but right-handed when drawing, drafting, shooting a rifle (well, all my rifles are right-handed, anyway; not much choice) or using a knife.

Whatever any of that means.

Most likely whichever thumb is on top the opposing hand pinky is on the bottom. What makes the top of yours hands more dominant than the bottom?
 
Tops are more dominant than bottoms. Sheesh.

Next thing ya know, you'll be wondering why people have different colored kerchiefs hangin' out their back pockets...

Shooting is strictly target shooting, and knife is mostly cooking knives.

I'm probably the most harmless person any of you could ever hope to meet.
