Dedolight DLH-4 150W noise

I heard a buzz enough to be distracting, coming from the power supply/dimmer after shooting an interview with a lav mic (it was used as a hair light for an idea of distance). The mic on the boom really saved the day.

I tested a second unit and it makes the same sound, but not as loud.

I swear they used to run without any noise (or any noticeable noise).

Does anyone have experience with this - any solutions etc.?
 
I don't think so. I can hear it on various wall outlets with my ears. I only just found a thread with someone experiencing the same problem.

I doubt I will find a local solution and might have to send it away for repair, which will probably only take 9-12 months...

Regardless, I'll update my findings to maybe help anyone with the same problem.

Dave, I've never heard about lav shielding issues and have started reading up - good to know!
