Dedo lights?

I have Kino Flos and looking for some light that I can use for splashing some colored light in the background for effect. I understand that the Dedos can keep a solid beam but can they maintain this if I gels on it?

Dedos are hot...HOT for a little light, so be aware that they like to melt gels if you put them too close. The beam would stay solid as long as you're not putting any sort of diffusion in front of them (or using dirty filters which does the same thing as diffusion).

Depending on the color, you'll lose a good bit of intensity, but that's the same with all lights.

I like Dedos a lot, but you could also use inkys and save a couple of bucks.
