Decisions....

Got picked up as a DP on a local cop drama TV series. I cant decide if I should shoot with HVX200a stock or with a redrock m2. It is very limited shooting time and involves some ext nights and int cars. They dont have a huge lighting budget either which is going to be an issue. What would you guys do? Redrock + HVX or just HVX?

FWIW just HVX. Although since I don't generally use the HVX myself, it's not W much...but it sure sounds like the last things you need are extra bulk/weight in your hands, and the light-loss of the adapter, particularly with what's kind of a slow camera to start with, particularly at night...

If you can't simply expose a proper image on the HVX + adapter because of lighting restraints, it seems a no-brainer. That is the only basic necessity of a lighting cameraman.

Yeah its a bummer. I am going to try and talk them into a larger g/e budget and if i get that to pass then I will shoot with adapter. I have an AC and Gaffer so I guess the main problem is light loss and tight spots.
