Decent Softbox?

I've heard a lot about how cheap SV is, but does anyone know if this would apply to softboxs to the same degree?

At the moment my lighting kit consists of 2 250W open faced SV lights w/dimmers. Plus 2 reflector boards. From what I've been reading a decent softbox for a key seems to be the best thing for me to have next (When I bought the first 2 lights I'd never really researched much).

Basically, I'm looking for what to ask my parent for during Christmas. ~$200-250.

The other option was the Lowell Pro-light and then saving for a Chimera softbox.

A few things to consider for any suggestions. I'm primarily a writer/director, so I'm not looking to build a life long kit, just lights to experiment with so I can communicate better with cinematographers when I'm not isolated in the middle of Indiana. Also, the next shorts I'm filming are being shot outside, under floresent lights, and one clay-mation (that I've no clue even where to start).

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks.
