Decent generic V-lock batteries?

I'm putting together a low-budget, high-punch battery light kit for an upcoming project, was curious what happen to be the best much-less-than-$300/ea batteries currently on the market. Thanks much.

Not as good as big brand batteries but you get what you pay for.

Would be nice if you clarified what you mean by "Not as good as big brand batteries."

Be careful of the Watt Hour rating if you intend to fly with them, anything over 100 and you are restricted to two as carry on, over 160 isn't allowed at all.

As in the battery life for a similar brand name watt hour rated battery tended to be a bit better.
They weren't bad by any means, but for use on a Red you could do better.
For a lighting kit they'd last all day.
