Debating a free stream of our feature

Hi there,

We are considering streaming a free sneak peek at our feature online, but have no experience with or knowledge of this world. Does anyone have experience with this kind of thing or any tips/advice?

You mean as an "event" where people can go to a web page at a certain time and watch it? Or do you mean puytting the sneak peak up on YouTube or Vimeo so people can access it? Need more data.
 
Hey snazzy, thanks for your quick reply.

This would be less of an event, more as a fund and awareness raiser for this feature and another that's just headed into post. The idea would be to have a sign-up for a code or e-mail link to download/stream the film. I'd prefer to stay away from segmented viewing on sites like vimeo or youtube, unless you can stream an 80 minute movie these days.
 
If you go the route Zak suggests, ping me before you launch it. I can advise on some other things you might want to do to prepare a wordpress site for heavy traffic.

Keep in mind the marketing side of this. You're asking the viewer to go to a lot of effort to watch this, but if it's a fund and awareness raiser they probably don't have any reason to. It would only be worthwhile if you have a very effective marketing campaign beforehand.
