Death to reality TV!

I consider shows like Cops and The First 48, and the new one I think is Dallas Swat as real life shows. Some I like, some I don't

"Reality" shows on the other hand, the only one I really like at all is The Apprentice. I can watch Survivor if I am at my cousins and he has it on, or Fear Factor... but only the stunts, not that eating crap.

EDIT==Opps forgot love ANYTHING WITH CHOPPER BUILDING, though American Choppers is getting a bit old.

Reality TV will always be cheaper then narrative, however I think it will soon be getting more expensive to produce. The writers guild is already coming down on them because the situations are contrived, which makes the people who contrive them, writers.

You can bet, with all the people who are on multiple reality shows it won't be long before sag steps in and creates a reality designation. Producers love reality because they hate SAG, once SAG is in the mix, producers won't love it as much anymore.

The end result will be that while reality TV will never go away completely, I believe that we have already seen the ‘golden age of reality TV’ pass us by, viewership is down and costs are rising. Only the biggest shows can survive the shakedown. Trump is staying but Martha got the axe, American Idol will be around forever, but Country Western Idol is just a footnote in history.

So its not all bad, that’s what TV remotes are for.

(cue collective moan throughout all of DVXuser)

So...will Sonny and Emily get together? And just how pissed will Jason be about it?
