Dealing with new show host

Ego.

We've all seen it before. There is always someone that wants to take over. It's your house, you decide how you want things to run. You have to decide now if you work with him or not. Set down the rules now and either he stays or he goes. If you don't, it will likely only get worse over time.

I think we can all get caught up a fun new project, but this obviously sounds like a fair bit more than that.

You definitely need to tell him that you like and appreciate his fresh ideas, but that it's your show, not his. He's there to host. You welcome new ideas and even like some of his, but things take time to change and it's your call, not his. He needs to know his role

Just go at him like the Rock would....

You are being challenged like a child tests a parent. How far can I go? The farther you let it go, the more control you lose and the more out of control the child gets.

The challenge may be backed up by talent. It may be this person is so strong and talented that they can and will take over the show and make it a terrific and successful show. Or they may be just an out of control brat that will destroy it.

That's what you need to figure out and decide if you want to go for the ride or get things back under control.

If he's good enough and you're prepared to give him the control then it's his show and you're riding his coat-tail. Maybe he is destined for greatness. If not and a frank discussion cannot put you on the same page then it's your show and he can not be the host. It won't get better if you can't nip this in the bud.

WTF! I opened the thread and find "to be continued" must have got nervous, afraid the guy might read the thread, lol idk, I'm joking
