Dead Birds

Watched "Dead Birds" the other night. Kind of "The Ring" meets "Young Guns".

I had seen numerous trailers for this packed into previews for a bunch of B Movie horrors. This movie didn't look at all like the movies it was clumped together with. It had a decent cast with name actors(at least actors of which you know their faces), it looked like it had great cinematography, and it looked genuinely scary.

I wondered why I'd never heard about it before, and why it didn't get a wide theatrical release - cuz it looked really good.

After viewing the film, my guess as to why it didn't get a wide release, why it ended up clumped into a bunch of B movie previews... because it doesn't make any sense.

That is my own opinion. If anyone has seen it and understands what takes place I'd love to know. I cannot wrap my finger around it and I really enjoy movies that have you piecing things together after it's over... only this one must be missing a few pieces cuz I can't come to a logical conclusion of what transpires.

There are some truly excellent horror/scary moments in this film. There are some truly excellent gore moments in this film. The acting is good, the cinematography is good. It looks and feels like a top notch film. It's a little on the slow side, as it's only 85minutes or so, and we don't really get to scary stuff until the 40 minute mark. Too much walking around an old house investigating.

I recommend it for one of those nights you want to watch a horror, have seen all the A list horror movies and don't want to watch the B Movie straight to video crap you know you could do a better job making. This one fits in the middle.

And if you do watch it, and it makes sense to you - please fill me in!!!
