I know there is some information regarding this already on here, I did a search. But here's my deal -
I'm having trouble with my still images and motion and transitions. I de-interlaced the still images, applied simple motion key frames to them, and have fade in / fade out transitions on either end. Everything looks great when playing in the FCP timeline, but then when I've sent the project through compressor and output it to DVD, the final result is pretty dreadful. I'm getting a large amount of artifacts on the fade in/ fade out transitions, though the motion itself is okay without any jumps. I should mention that this is not happening for every still image with similar set-up.
Should I not de-interlace my stills? Should I be using compression markers in my footage (though with the transitions, I'm not sure where they should go).
For a short (7 minute) project, should I even be using Compressor? (But then how do I get the Dolby audio?)
I had to let my project compress over night, so I'm not anxious to try reversing the de-interlace feature and then compress again just to see if it works.
Any suggestions or flat out "here's what you do, moron" would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Robert
