Any de-interlace solution to go from 50i to 25p for final 1080/24p master?

Any vertical (or other else) resolution losses?

Thanks!

well, I always set the deinterlace at the rendering window. and it does the rest of the work

There's resolution loss when you're deinterlacing, no two ways about it. For the BEST results you can drop $90 on an 'intelligent deinterlacing' plugin like the Re:Vision Fields Kit (http://www.revisionfx.com/rsfk.htm). It searches for motion in the clip and only deinterlaces where there's motion, leaving static portions of the image crisper. Whereas something like that Creative Cow technique is litereally throwing away half of the pixels. Of course b/c of the way most video cameras record interlaced footage, you don't get quite the full/magical resolution from deinterlacing with something like Fields Kit as you might hope, but it should look a lot sharper on most sources than simple interpolation.

Or, you could just buy a DVX and shoot in progressive mode. ;)
