DCP (Digital Cinema Package)

Wow the software is really coming down in price. $699 is a great price for the software, but again I'm not sure about the quality.

I'm pretty sure it will be good because MJPEG doesn't have a lot of optimization that can happen, and the bitrates for DCI compliant files are so huge that it usually doesn't matter. But this is just total speculation on my part based off my knowledge of the compressors and format.

Some professional post houses can convert your media to DCI compliant files for theatrical distribution as well. I would check there if you're only going to encode one movie and or one trailer. It might be cheaper to have another post house to do it than buy the whole software package.

I have been meaning to test this software out- P.s. I think you mean Jpeg2000 (not Mjpeg). You can download a free trial to test, its just watermarked.

yes, i think i will have a try of this software. FYI, I asked Dolby from NYC, it costs roughly 4,000-5,000 for a 90 minutes feature film.
Thanks a lot.
