DC power for charging DVX 100a batteries?

I am looking for a device to charge my batteries in the field using a Solar Panel to Car Battery to _____? (Or just from the Solar Panel..) I am finding female cigarette adapters to connect directly to the camera, but that will not charge my batteries...

Why won't the DC to AC converter charge your batteries off the cigarette lighter is maybe a better question?
 
John while technically it would work, using the converter/adapter combination is not a very good solution when solar power is used as a source. The reason is 30%-40% of available energy (which is limited to begin with) would be wasted in conversion as heat. So charging would take longer, or the car battery will be depleated sooner. A better solution is to get a battery charger (there are several makes available, not only ours) which accepts a 12V power source. Then the only thing needed is a simple 12V cable for hooking up.
