dbl or triple combo stand

I've read some comments on other forums that double combo stands are worthless in that you always need an extra foot. Just curious if you'd advise guys building their kits to skip the medium stands initially and save up and buy triple combo, hi hi, mombos or other 13ft plus stands. Thanks in advance.
 
I have 4 triples and 1 double. The double only comes out last and is useful for holding floppies or other stuff that don't need to be high up. But in general the triples are much better as you always need to go higher. I would get more triples if I had room in my truck.
 
I never bothered with double-riser combos, my c-stands go just as high. I went for a combo/boom stand first, then added four triple-riser combos - my life is much better thanks to those five stands.
