DAW of choice for Vegas users

[JONJON]

I'm noticing most of the competition has a DAW software integration with their NLE, since Sony pretty much gave up on Acid Pro years ago, what DAW are you guys using?

[David Jimerson]

ACID was never the DAW. Sound Forge is. As far as Sonic Foundry/Sony goes, that is.

if Vegas offered Midi instrument capability that would just be perfect :cheesy:

I've been doing much of my audio work in Vegas 8.0 already, as it features a nice Surround mixing option built-in. Depending on how complex your project is, Vegas is good enough.
Most people tend to use ProTools, but if you want Surround Sound abilities, you'll need a 2500$ setup with the HD version of ProTools.
The Surround Panner is already built-in in Vegas Pro versions.

When I used Vegas, it was my DAW. I mixed three features and countless shorts with it. Works great.
