Davis & Sanford Pro Vista Video Tripod with FM18 Is busted. Warranty Claim?

Got to set this morning and the plastic piece that holds the spreader to the legs was busted. Tripod is D.O.A. The website says that it has a 10 year warranty. Just wondering if I'm covered, and what its going to cost to ship the thing.

All said though, i got over a year of hard work out of this thing for less than 200 bucks. The head and wheels are still good even if i have to toss it out. Not sure if I'll buy another or just upgrade the legs.

Also if anyone has another one of these in a tripod graveyard and wouldn't mind scavenging the part for me, i'd appreciate it.
 
I'd just try giving them a call or email. I have the same tripod. Different problem but I was very impressed with the customer service. They sent me replacement parts no questions asked.
 
thanks for that. Shot an email of to Leigh and copied the tech support email listed on the warranty page. Hope the turn around is good on this.
 
Got a response from Leigh in a little over 24 hours. Sending me a return authorization to have it repaired. So far customer service is doing a bang up job.
 
got home today and had a seemingly brand new tripod waiting for me. Guess whatever it was wasn't worth fixing. No note explaining anything, but it does list replacement on the packing slip. I had removed the arms and extra bolts, this one had everything attached except the arms. So I end up with some extra screws (which may come in handy in the future) as well as another quick release plate.

12 days from Nashville to New York and back again. Great customer service at Tiffen. I'd buy another one of these based on how breezy this was.
 
did you ship them the tripod? or they just sent you the parts?

I just ordered one of these and i like it so far (still waiting on the dolly)

good to know they stand by their product.
