quick question for those of you familiar with this tripod.

just got mine the other day. had a better one, that was stolen, so had to downgrade unfortunately. i have 2 questions though...
1. is there a way to level JUST the tripod head without having to tweak the length of each leg? my previous tripod (the bogen 503 w/351 sticks) had a grip that you could loosen to adjust the level of the tripod head. can the fm18 do this?
2. do any other fm18 users find the pan, even when the lever is all the way loosened, is still a bit tight? fast pans are a bit difficult.
other than this, fine tripod. takes some getting used to though...
