Hi!

Like many others I had jump to try out new free version of daVinci resolve on my PC desktop computer ( i7 )..

The more I follow the topic and try to investigate, I can not find out what would be a apropriate PC workflow for integration with CS5.5 Premiere and AE..

I am mostly using GH13 and FS100, but Resolve don't read it's codecs..

I am familiar with cineform, but that is no go either..

Any ideas, what to do??

Thanks,

Had it on the PC for 2 days and deleted it again.
Feels like I sit in front of a 10 year old Flame - everything is totally old school workstation like.
I decided to wait till CS6 comes out with the integrated Iridas' SpeedGrade, so I can stay within Adobe`s modern dynamic link workflow.
Till then, I´m happy with Colorista and FirstLight.

There are a number of PC workflows but they mostly include intermediates unless you are shooting to files such as Prores (.mov)

Sometimes I use dpx intermediates out of Premiere and various export types out of Resolve.
Sometimes I take in prores source files and CC / grade before I edit them.
Sometimes I take a master .mov and use Reslovle to legalise it before broadcast.

@Postmaster.

We are hoping its "integrated" for a simple round trip but I am not counting on that until I see it myself. My guess it will be xml and not DL.

I have an i7 Mac and it seems to handle AVCHD all right, though it's a bit unstable when you try to scrub or use the motion tracker. I can't imagine why performance wouldn't be the same on PC.

You're definitely better off using an intermediate codec, but Resolve CAN work with compressed formats. And I bet it'd be even better with a CUDA-enabled GPU.

You can not use AVCHD in the Windows version of Resolve.

It was ported from the Mac version and is still Mac-centric.

I found one option for GH13 and FS100 material.. I can transform them to Prores with free 5D2RGB ..than it is readable by both Premiere/EA and daVinci..
