I know Resolve is a NLE, but it may soon also be a DAW.

For those that have been around awhile Fairlight used to be a competitor of ProTools. Fairlights (originally I think they were samplers) were stand alone DAW's cost a fortune but were solid as a rock and loved by some editors. Foley and ADR folks I remember liking them, probably in part because they handled 24 tracks with no sweat and ProTools was practically limited to 16 tracks. Well actually "voices", you could have a huge number of tracks but only 16 mono (8 stereo) sounds could play at any one time so to keep voice management sane editors limited them selves to 16 active tracks. You could double that but it required a complicated drive dance so designers might go there but would shrink the session down to 16 before going to the mix.

Anyway Resolve 14 is in public Beta right now and I haven't really played with it so This is a heads up not a seal of approval. I have been playing around with Resolve 12 as a replacement for FCP and I can say that the NLE part works great.

It's actually a pre-NAB announcement that a good bit of Fairlight has been added and that (if my memory is good enough) the full Fairlight will plug into the Resolve software better now. Got to admit, they are stuffing a lot of really great stuff into their software, and really the industry at large. Whether you like their products or not, you are seeing the benefits of their work push the other software/hardware to keep up or get lost which is good for all of us!
