Davinci Resolve 14 sound is choppy

Before you ask.... I do have a BMD login, but I forgot the password, and I think they changed my username because it wasn't my own name to begin.... seriously their forum has so little response from the employees and their password recovery is gimped... therefore I come here instead.

Since 14 beta 6 I'm getting choppy sound as soon as I add a music track on track 2.... the camera audio seems just fine, but the music is chopping along with a distortion to it. It's not the track. The track is fine when I play it back from the folder etc. It's only in Davinci it's bad.

And there should be anything wrong with my desktop either. 4.0 6-core and 32gb ram with 6gb vram.

Any ideas?

Found the answer myself... apparently Davinci can't handle compressed formats like mp3s, needs something like wav. So all I had to do was to buy the wav version and use that instead. Works fine now...

I bet it is trying to use hardware decoding, something like one of the ASI mpeg cards might help, but none of them are cheap. We use a bunch of them in our radio station because the automation software doesn't really play the files. The files are sent to the sound card to play, eliminating all cpu overhead with playing audio files.
