DaVinci Resolve 12 Banner Announcement at NAB 2015

Sweet!! They really are stepping up in the editing game. Last year they had the cameras outside as well so I would think they would have that if anyone is out and about tomorrow.

Cool! I would love to see them become an alternative to FCP and Premiere. Bring it on!

Im not an experienced editor and dont do long form projects with TB of rushes - so my edit perspective is limited.

That said.. I have been happily editing on DR11 for six months now having given up on FCP6

Im not sure why DR11 is not considered a good edit platform.

The only weakness I find in DR11 is ... sound finish and multicam!

So this is very very good news.

Sam i think you hit the nail on the head with the audio particularly. Some aspects are presently good but other aspects are not. Lack of of proper scrubbing is a deal breaker for many.

Another issue is the lack of ability to add codecs. That one is a huge issue to most.

Resolve is already a solid alternative. By adding multi-cam and audio finishing they have pretty much sealed the deal. Especially considering it is free.

I"m hoping they make the roundtrips to premiere a little bit easier. It's been such a pain to work with that right now.
