datavideo DV recorder?

so recently i just got this datavideo DN-200 for quite cheap, i was modified it to using a L batteries so i can take it anywhere in my bag, my few questions is, is it able to record in DVCPRO ? i tried using my HVX200 through FireWire, yeah it does record but I can't play it on VCR mode on tape mode, i think it able to record to DVCPRO because i saw the image products in google on the LCD says DVCPROn, I can't find the option on the DN itself, and the other questions is on my PD-170 I can't record using the REC trigger on my PD, i did everything like tape to sync mode, etc but still, i don't want to use gpi trigger because too much cable around.
 
i think DN-200 is my best investment for me, i got many handycam around to digitize tapes, record everything without losing too much quality through analog input

the latest firmware on datavideo site was unavailable unfortunately, i wouldn't mind to record on the tape mode and then 16:9 aspect ratio, maybe i can go higher resolution on tape mode ?
