datacode for logged clips

hello.
i was wondering if it is possible to see the timecode of the tape after i have captured it into fcp6? the thing is, when i put the dv-cassette in my xh-a1, i can see what date, time and gainlevels i have used for the particular shot. is there any way i can attach this information and see it after i have logged it into fcp? then it would make it considerably easier to systematisize all the files, especially when using more than one camera. and as far as i know the hv-20 doesnt have free-rec timecode, so i cant use that with my canon xh-a1 either...

does anyone have suggestion regarding these issues?

thanx to everone who would take their time...

Turn on your TIMECODE overlays... there's one each for the viewer and the canvas window. Unfortunately, the other information isn't read by FCP, but is still there on the meta-data for the clip. Programs like CATdv can pull this information off also.

Good luck,

thanx CaptM

that is a curious thing though, that FCP doesnt do this... well, so my only option is to purchase another program to do this? do i still capture and log in fcp, and then open the quicktimefiles in CATdv, and then i will see recording date, clock-time and gainlevels? is this correct?
