So this is a bit of a head-scratcher, and kind of a bad situation since this project is supposed to be finishing up.
i've had a project running in FCP 7 for a couple months now. Footage originated on a T2i, audio on a Fostex FR2-LE, and all was fine off the cards and fine when transcoded to ProRes. I started the project without issue, and went through a couple of revisions. Today, I opened the project and the files won't play. The footage goes to green with white noise, or quits playing altogether. The audio files open with waveforms in the viewer but will not play.
QuickTime won't play the files outside of FCP. I have also tried VLC, which won't play the video without errors, and WaveAgent, which won't play the audio (it actually crashes when trying to play the files). The files still show their original file sizes, but opening the audio in QT shows a run time in the player of 00:00.
More mysterious: none of the other projects on the same drive are affected. Unfortunately, both the camera source files and the ProRes conversions are jacked, along with the audio. Am I completely SOL or is there a way to salvage the data?
