Hi,
Normally I shoot HD but it wasn't necessary for my last work, so I did it SD.
The thing is that I've imported the SD footage to my FCP6 and it automatically showed darker on the Capt and Log window comparing to what is seen on the XH-A1 little LCD and my calibrated HD monitor (which are almost identical regarding Gamma).
A first, since I never had any problems capturing HD.
I've been around my 2 FCP manuals plus the Color Correction encyclopedia with no success whatsoever.
I'm almost sure that it has to be the Gamma settings but if I'm right, FCP doesn't let you correct them when you import your video footage, only stills.
The weird thing is that I've assembled a raw sequence with some material and exported it without compression (QuickTime Movie/uncompressed 10-BIT PAL), just to see how it ended in a QT movie, and it shows with the correct Gamma? level!!!
Anyone can share some experience/info about this, and a way to solve the annoying darker image on the Viewer/Canvas FCP windows?
Thanks a lot
