Dark Video

When capturing video from my DVX100A it looks REAL dark in the monitor window. This is the first time I'm capturing video on a Vista machine. I also noticed this once before with a quicktime file that played back real dark. And when I mean dark I mean you can barely see the image!

Also ...the image looks fine on the DVX LCD screen.

Any clues?

PC computer screens do not display video the same as you cameras monitor. your video is probably fine.

No its much worse than that... I've been editing video and using after effects for years... when I mean dark I mean Dark..

Like someone turned the lights off in the room...

I have plenty of footage that looks right... but this is the first time during capture that the video looks really wrong...

I'm going to have to try my other machine.

Something I should have done a lot earlier in this conversation was CAPTURE the video that looked dark..

I went ahead a captured it and it plays back fine. It is the preview capture window that is real dark.

Who knows??? as long as I can capture the footage.
