It's great it was shot on a Nokia, but with a cast like that, the budget had to be huge. I'm sure lots of post work too, but yes - shows that a good DP can work with anything.
Notice the story, acting, colour grading, art direction, set decoration, extras, wardrobe, blocking and staging, location audio, sound design, foley, and musical score.
Notice all that and you don't notice the camera... but it is definitely what you use that matters; it's just that the part the 'what' should refer to the people who know how to handle all that stuff. There's no better investment.
Well, its not like you can walk out of your house even as a seasoned pro and shoot that without cash. THats a full production with a large budget i.e. a marketing gimmick.
Left out on purpose. In a camera centric community, getting people to notice things other than just the camera so often gets lost that even when you ask people to notice everything else I see they just come right back to the camera.
I'd really like to know exactly what they hooked that camera up to to get that to work. The rig looks way too massive for the number of useful things I can think of. It's a great marketing gimmick, looking at how it has people talking already. It's hard to get my head around the idea that they can sell enough phones for this to be worth it, but I think I've read they're already on 28 million or something like that.
