I heard Jean Reno was going to be in it too (and Tom Hanks, of course.)
As much as I don't really want to, I'm afraid I'm going to like this movie quite a bit with such a good cast and a relatively talented director (although the book had stilted prose and the screenwriter, while proficient, writes very clumsy dialogue.)
I wasn't referring to any of the religious elements of the story, which don't bother me at all--although they're neither new nor original, and Brown didn't do too good a job mixing and mushing and trying to amalgamate various theories that have been floating around since the 70s.
I wasn't even referring to the "paintings" parts of the plot, which are rather cute and entertaining--no, I was referring to the fact that Dan Brown obviously didn't see fit to come to Paris to do just a little bit of on-site research, which results in a large collection of mistakes and physical impossibilities in the first part of the book, such as having a car zip through the Tuileries gardens... which are enclosed all around by a very large, very high and very sturdy wrought-iron fence... and regularly interrupted by large flights of stone stairs... ;D
As regards escaping the museum through a toilet window opening on the outside... : Oh, well... I'm sure Tom Hanks will make an excellent professor of symbology/Indiana Jones !

Some books are just better when they visually exist in your head.[/quote]
I have the Da Vinci Code, but haven't read it. I did enjoy Angels and Demons, though. So, should I read The Da Vinci Code or wait for the movie? Not like I have a lot of time for reading anyway...
