D800 vs Nokina 1020: unfair but impressive comparison

I think every time the D800 looks softer it is because of its shallower DoF, but it's an interesting comparison nonetheless:

I would like to see Nokia come out with a 4K video mode by January 2015 when my two year Verizon contract expires on my HTC Droid DNA but I think the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 should have better 4K quality than the current Note 3. BTW I hear there will be two Nokia smartphone companies by then, Microsoft's Nokia with Windows Phone 8 OS and Nokia with the Android OS by Singapore-based Newkia run by the former CEO of Nokia Asia-Pacific Thomas Zilliacus.

I bet the Nokia results would be even better if he had tested them after the update that will let the 1020 shoot Raw, especially where highlight detail is concerned.

The only lens that would match was an older 28-105mm Nikon Macro.

Of course, the choice could have been better for the Nikon too, the 1020 uses a 6-element Zeiss lens with aspheric glass.
