I got it!

First thing i tried to do though was select a shutter speed and I can't figure out how. Don't tell me a camera this expensive wont let me choose a shutter speed...

What mode are you shooting in?

If you are shooting in S priority just use the command dial. If you are shooting in Manual you need to hold the secondary selector to flip between A & S.

Then again, it's all in the manual.
