my directing instructor referred us to that page. the funny thing is, the person who wrote dumps sound like my intructor.
someone who is obviously sick of cliche's and bad films when he himself probably makes the same crappy and untalented ones.

that's why I don't watch much of indy films because everything is expected to be read as emotional moments- those long takes- esp painful when the person is not attractive.
to mention the worst, IFC has been showing crappy films lately. I don't care if you're independent and poor. No talent at all.

... ok I sound bitter about bad movies too. it's for the sake of argument.

I teach students know the rules to break them, and a cliche is a cliche for a reason, and should be avoided, unless it can be revived in a creative way.

It is funny that in all of the stuff I ever learned, now only one thing stands out as the difference between really good video and poor video, that single hurdle I see young shooters jumping over each year. The same goes for story telling.
