Cygnet74 is dead

and rising like a phoenix from his ashes... me.

the Cygnet74 handle is no more. moving on. lost my animated avatar in the process but that's no big loss.

ever wondered about the meaning?.... my father was a cocaine smuggler from 1970-1972. there was a book written about his adventures called "Snowblind". in it, his alias was Zachary Swan. and here's the connection... a "cygnet" is a baby swan. 1974 is my birth year.

but it's time to shed my old man's legacy and concentrate on my own. balls out. full steam ahead. 2007 is going to be my "reboot". i haven't directed a picture since 2004 and it's time to put all my heart and intellect back into this love affair I have with the cinematic experience.

I have a dream of a world *wide-web* in which forums users use their real names, its comming closer to that...

Catch the slogan:

"Real names, Real Users"

Damn straight Zak. Put your heart on some mini dv (or HD) and show it to the world. I plan to do the same. I want to direct 2 shorts and be ready to shoot, if not shooting, a feature by the end of the year. I also plan to blow up bigger than Quentin within 5 years. I better get movin!

Zak, I bet you put more thought into your screen name than just about every member of this board combined.

Except me of course. A name like that just doesn't fall out of the sky.

Anyways, good luck and god bless.

Then what? Our real life pictures as avatars?

"Super Trooper" is ultra mysterious.

And look at my avatar. He's a badass I tall ya. And Japanese.

Do you really want to see some dorky white dude named Shane on these boards?

I should hope not. :)

I'm taking a stand for all the geeks out there. I'm a hero.

Hey if you want to make me Matt Gettemeier instead of MattinSTL I'll take it.

Although my screen name has equally deep meaning to Zak's original name... but I took a vow of secrecy with my fellow Saint Louis natives... so I can't break the code...

Well, in that sense your right, your nick does form a mental image in my head of a uber cool guy!

Thats the whole point of an Avatar, comming from the Sanskrit word "Avthaar" meaning "To send down" or "descent" (avatarati) i.e. to translate from one postion to another, in essense to convay a message.

And your Avatar and user name represents you, and you alone have that choice, and I'm cool with however anyones wants to express themselfs.

To each his own, DVXuser is open to all! :)

Allaround FilmLV - Ha! LOL :) Kids must have made fun of your name in school. ...But in Film School you'll be a God! :)

I don't know Anhar

I always found conversing with 69Licksterdawg uber intimate
Wouldn't that depend on who [or what] "69Licksterdawg" is and what your into?

Good luck Zak, Happy New Year everyone

Hey my handle has deep cultural significance. Well not really but there is a reason to it.

But my real name is Slab Hardshoulder, and that's just too manly for you guys to handle.

Maybe someday I'll change my real name to Aaron Martin. But not just yet.
