Cutting Carbon Rails

I tried searching for this, but...

What's the best method for cutting my 24" 15mm carbon rails? Definitely don't need 24".

I have a relative with a lapidary saw. That worked well. You might know someone with lapidary interests or be near a lapidary club or rock shop. A (water damped) diamond tile saw will also work. If you don't mind the risk from dust, there are tungsten coated rod hacksaw blades which work, ask your hardware store. An ordinary hacksaw blade will go blunt after one stroke, but will still work. Dip the ends in epoxy to smooth them off after they are cut. Next time, I'll ask my supplier to supply the rods in the length I need.

I figured it was gonna be more difficult than my plan of using a plumber's rotary pipe cutter :)

I do have a wet tile saw. I'll give that a try. I think I'll masking tape the cut just to make sure there are no splinters. I'll report my results.

Used a diamond wet tile saw. Piece of cake.

This is one of the $60 tile table saws you can get at Lowe's. No splitting, splintering, or ancillary fibers hanging off the edges.

Honestly just tape the area to be cut and use a fine toothed hack saw. Works just fine. Done it several times. Cleanup the carbon fiber dust, it's irritating stuff.

I would've just used a hack saw, but I was afraid I wouldn't get a perpendicular cut. I already had a wet diamond tile saw, so why not.
