Cutting 24p footage

hey all,

recently shot a film in 24p and am currently logging and capturing footage (on a 29.97 timeline, with intentions to export to tape), but i think that there is a problem. as i'm logging, the footage looks very jittery and a bit dark as well. it seem's to be about 2-3 f-stops darker on the computer than on the lcd screen, and everytime there is movement, it looks like there are visible line tracks following the action. i didn't have this problem when i when i shot in 30p. is this all normal, or is there a problem? if so, how can i fix it? when i export, will it be as dark as i see it on the computer? will the jittery lines show up?

thanks in advance

sb

If at all possible hook up a real video monitor or at least a tv to your system (using firewire to a camera/deck to monitor) This will show you how it will really look. A computer screen is non-interlaced and a different gamma, especially an LCD screen.

If that's not possible then adjust LCD ,using the monitor display controls, and try to match tv playback (or camera LCD could be bright or dark)

It's common for the image to 'tear' on a computer screen. This is normal and another reason for real video display.
