Cut and Paste to Scrolling Text?

I have a lot of credit information that I dread having to type (or REtype, rather) into each line of the CREDIT TEXT boxes (dual items) for some scrolling text.

All of the information is in a Word document, and I would love some sort of workaround so as to avoid having to retype it all!

Am I making sense? Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Instead of copy and pasting into your NLE, which in the case of final cut means doing some heavy reformatting, try making a long photoshop document with your text,

(720, 1280. or 1440 pixels wide, depending on your video size, and then multiply 480, 720, 0r 1080, by however many full "screen pages" of credits you will have, ie 1440 X 3240 for 3 full pages at 1080i/p)

then import your PSD into your NLE and animate it (in FCP, use the center value under the motion tab) to seamlessly scroll through your long list of credits.

OUTSTANDING!!! Thanks for the great idea. Sometimes, I just don't think outside of the NLE.

I had a terrible nightmare of a simple credit roll when a client gave me a huge excel spreadsheet full of names. I could select and copy the entire spreadsheet but when I hit paste, it would only paste one field.

You can accomplish the same thing within Vegas by creating a text card containing all of your credits, and using keyframes to scroll from top to bottom. Then, if you need to change something, there's no need to go back to Photoshop. Vegas isn't FCP; no major reformatting necessary.

or you can add a credit roll, delete the samples, click on an empty bar, and "ctrl V" (paste) a list of what-ever. the list i got came str8 from my email, with every value on a new line.... example.
