I read in the manual where you can customize the keyboard layout. Now is this an on screen keyboard type thing or is it my external keyboard that I can customize with shortcuts and all?

You external keyboard -- change any key at all...
The one must I do everytime...
Your ~ key is an extra marker key. Change it to Snapping and you'll never search for that n key again!!!
Tools - Keyboard Layout - Customize
Then, unlock the bottom and change at will!! Look out for Bruce the wonder Yak!
