Custom ProRes preset defaults in Media Encoder to .f4v?

Hi all, I'm the videographer on an extended video project for a local theatre production, and I'm working out a good workflow with the editor. She's working in FCPX, but I use Premiere CS6 to do initial audio sync and color grading. After adjusting color and audio, I need to be able to output the footage again in ProRes 422 HQ, 1080p, at 23.976 frames per second. I selected the ProRes 422 HQ preset in Premiere, but changed the pixel aspect ratio to square and set the resolution, correspondingly, to 1920x1080 (rather than 1440 x 1080 with anamorphic pixels, which is the default).

This custom preset encodes just fine in Premiere as a .mov file, as expected. However, when I try to export it via Adobe Media Encoder, it defaults to a .f4v file. The only other options I have in Media Encoder are .flv and h.264.

This is obviously not satisfactory. Any ideas why Media Encoder is changing the preset?

Thanks!

Upon advisement at CreativeCow, I'm updating PP and AME to 6.0.1. Will share whether that fixes it.

Updating Premiere and Adobe Media Encoder to 6.0.1 did not fix this issue. Neither did reinstalling FCPX. This is very frustrating. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know!

If Adobe Media Encoder was installed by PPRO (or After Effects, Production Premium, Master Collection, or Creative Cloud), then you should definitely have the full slate of export formats, including QuickTime. I suggest that you bring this up on the AME forums over at Adobe.com. In fact, there's already a thread going that may cover the same issue you're facing: http://forums.adobe.com/message/4458835#4458835.

When you bring up the encoder for export you should see a dialog like this, with 'quicktime' selected in the 'format' field?

If there are no other options, it would appear that something is messed up in the installation. (I don't have FCPX so I don't know what may happen in regard to installing and Apple ProRes being correctly installed.)
