Custom Mouse Buttons?

The time has come to get a new mouse and I'm wanting to get one with the five button layout and assign two of the buttons to two of the most commonly used tools in FCP. Can this be done, and if so, which tools do you recommend?

Yes, assuming you buy a mouse that has software to program the buttons (such as Logitech or Microsoft) and the two most commonly used tools is whatever you use the most. Everyone edits differently.
