Custom made focus rings

I'm getting my first follow focus this week. I am going to fabricate custom focus rings out of acrylic on my laser cutter. My question to my fellow dvxuser members is this: what configuration of mounting method has worked best for you, and if it all works out, would you be interested in purchasing any?

Does a laser cutter offer sufficient precision for an application like this? You need 0.8mod gears that are machined *very, very* precisely.
 
I just cut two, press fit on nikon 50mm 1.8 and a 19mm. Smooth as butter! I have indifocus mini. Meshes just as well as the indie snap rings. Will post photos Friday.
 
Going to incorporate custom stops for nikon 18-200 as to not slip the focus ring clutch at focus limits.
