Custom Cases.

I have been asked by quite a large number of people where to get custom made case, and recently after mentioning it on another thread, I got asked again. It actually took me a long time to find the right company, the "pluck" foam you find in most cases doesn't really work over the long run, and the pre-made case, like the one Zacuto makes are great except that their particular design may not suit your exact needs and for the same price or less you can get a custom make case to your exact spec.

So here is goes, I'll tell you what has worked for me, feel free to share your favorite custom made case vendor as well:

I use Innerspace cases ( www.innerspacecases.com) for my custom made needs in Los Angeles, they are well known in L.A especially by the Steadicam and camera ops community. If I remember well, Carlos is the guy you want to talk to. I am sure there are quite a few other places, but this one has a very solid reputation and fair prices. You can bring your case or buy one from them. They can also custom make a case for you.

As far as cases, I like the Stormcases better than Pelican, although both are extremely tough( I have both), I think stormcases are better made, I like the rubberized grips and they feel a bit better for a comparable price... But Pelican's are as tough overall.

cheers.

I second this post, I visited Innerspace Cases this past week and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of their work compared with the cases of which I had been accustomed to using. They customized two Storm cases I already owned (they sell Pelican, Storm and Seahorse cases) and also built me a custom ata case for my lenses. Innerspace Cases will build you anything you want!

Carlos helped me out as well and was extremely knowledgeable in equipment and how it was to be used.

Another place down in the Los Angeles area is "Procases" - Shane over there has taken care of me on multiple occasions and the prices are definitely right. The build quality is nice. www.procases.com.

Their website is not the greatest, but they do good work.
