Did you select the two edits and press Shift + Delete? That should do the job. I'm loving how CS5.5 has added Extend Edit and Trim Edit commands so that I can have some of the same functionality as I did in FCP.

i tried it but it didnt work i think its because im using the FCP keyboard layout. do you know what the shortcut for Shift+Delete is so i can search for it in the keyboard layout panel.

I gave you a shortcut from the FCP keyboard shortcuts that are available in Premiere Pro under keyboard customization. That's why it didn't work. But what these guys said works if you are using the default Premiere Pro shortcuts.

i went to the default Premiere Pro shortcuts and tried Shift + Delete. Shift + Delete is a ripple delete and thats not what I'm looking for and i know how to use the ripple delete in PPro. when in FCP7 i ripple delete the space between the 2 clips the play head snaps between the 2 clips regardless where it is on the timeline.
