Curious Downconvert Question

I was pitched a project that is going to be shot in HD 1080p. The catch is that some of the deliverables need to be SD 16:9 pal, and 4:3 SD NTSC, and possibly others. The question is: If I edited this in my FCP laptop is it possible to compress/downconvert to the standard I need as I output/print the master??
Or do I need to output a full HD 1080p copy and leave it up to a post house?
I will be working under a hard deadline so posting and processing/compressing time will be critical to this decision.

Compressor will do this just fine.

Just make sure to use the preview window of Compressor, because it is easy for the pixel aspect ratio to get messed up when switching formats--especially between PAL, NTSC, and HD.
