Cue Sheets and Pond5

Hello,

I purchased a Pro Track from Pond5 for a film. I understand I have a fill out a Cue sheet and submit to ASCAP. While looking at the Cue sheet I noticed it's asking for broadcaster name. What if I don't actually know who the broadcaster is? I have a guy I know from a Public Access station in the USA who told me he can send my film out internationally to other Public Access stations and if they choose to pick it up and air it they can but I won't actually be told if it's aired unless I know the station contact and ask them. What do I do in this situation? The Cue sheet doesn't even have a date for airing so it doesn't appear ASCAP needs to know when it was aired so it's confusing me why they need to know the broadcaster name. I've never filled one of these out before.

Thanks,

Bryce

Can someone please reply? I am now told by ascap I don’t need to know the networks the film will be aired on and a guy who owns a public access station in my area is telling me I don’t even need to submit a cue sheet because that’s for public broadcasting and they are public access which is entirely different and they aren’t required to pay ascap

I would reach out to Pond5 for help.

Most here cannot recommend what exactly to do, especially since millions of paperwork in this world is filed incorrectly.

This is interesting. I called Pond5 support today and was basically told technically cue sheets are supposed to filled out and submitted but because my film will be aired on non profit stations I really don't need to submit any. That's only for commercial productions such as a song in a commercial for like Ford or Toyota. Guy at Pond5 told me that if my film ever took off to the point it was getting a worldwide audience daily then I might want to submit one just so that the publisher gets extra revenue that equals a lot more than the standard fee pond5 pays but I was told they pay the publisher within 48 hours of me purchasing the track and they are unlikely to get paid anything close to the amount pond5 pays unless my film got something 100 million airings worldwide.

In general, no one really cares about anything unless there is money to be made from it and/or their life (or their loved ones) depends on it.

And some people have hobbies too.
